Mission Statement:
 The mission of the WaKeeney Public Library, a tax-supported community resources, is to provide informational, educational and recreational resources, materials and programs to users of all ages.

History:

The WaKeeney Public Library, located in the Christmas City of the High Plains, was established in the Spring of 1906 by the Tourist Club Library. First located in a room of the Trego County Court House, the Library was moved to the new Municipal Building in 1939.

In 1996 a new library was constructed to meet ADA requirements and to provide additional services such as: audio/visual tapes, Internet access & other computer services in addition to books, periodicals and Interlibrary Loan.
